intro to the 'A' clamp

'A' Clamps are spring operated and are exceptionally useful in virtually every working situation. They provide instant pressure with single hand use. The term 'A' clamp was coined by us in 1994 to describe a tool that up till then did not really have a name.

Our range is made of steel with plastic tips to prevent slippage and pressure marks. Some models feature adjustable spring pressure. By sliding the spring within the clamp frame the fulcrum point is changed and therefore the pressure at the tip is changed. To reduce- the pressure simply push the spring forward with the thumb or on the stronger ones with the end of a screwdriver handle. To increase the pressure simply lift the spring ends up with a flat tip screwdriver and the spring will go backwards.

If you are looking for the most economic spring clamp the All Plastic version will fit the bill. Bulkier and less handy than the steel 'A' Clamp they can only be used on flat surfaces. The all steel 'A' Clamp copes with irregular shapes far better. The Super Plus 'A' Clamp is our best selling product because it has the ability to apply edge lipping, wide and narrow and be used for mitre clamping as well. Although now copied the Super Plus still outperforms it's rivals-. This is a Powergrip original concept and is a registered design. See also a new concept in hand clamping
